Announcements
While it seems like a long time ago, it is only been a few weeks since the winter training ended. We want to collect your feedback on this year’s program, as well as your recommendations for next year’s training. All surveys feedback is anonymous. Be sure to get your player’s input when you are filling it out! You may access the survey here. The survey closes on Friday, April 17, so please complete it today!
Even during the closures, many of our Cougar sponsors are restaurants providing take out, outdoor seating and some limited indoor seating – if you are ordering please think of these fine local businesses as they, like us, are severely impacted by CV-19.
For the first time this year we are complementing the Cougar Clothes you are familiar with, with a limited time online store. We are doing this to provide a greater selection of offerings without the significant expense of buying a full line of clothes upfront. If you are familiar with other teams that have a similar store, the limitation is that the store is only open for a brief period of time and then closes so the items can be ordered and shipped out. Our 2020 store has been open since mid March and given all the postponements we understand that this may not be on everyone’s short list, so we have extended the current dates for the store to be open until April 6th giving families time to take a look. For those who decide to buy, the clothes should be available a few weeks after the close date.
As of 3/13/20, CHS Baseball functions (an all other athletics) are cancelled. Therefore, none of the coaches will be able to hold any practice in any sort or participate in anyway in organized baseball activities until we return to school. The locker room will be open at Underhill on Saturday 3/14 from 9-9:30 so players can get their stuff and keep it at home until they return.
Saturday’s mini-parent meeting is moved from Underhill to Memorial Park, near the larger baseball field. 10 AM-12 PM
As a Boosters Team, we still want to keep the plans in place to meet with as many of the parents as possible tomorrow, so we’re just shifting to Memorial Park. Please stop by to say hello and have a cup of coffee. We can answer questions, you can pay the participation fee, pick up your Dick’s Discount sheet and Cougar magnet, and buy an official Cougars cap. We can add to that, of course, the impact of the closing and moving forward. We’ll have a couple of tables set up so we can practice our social distancing outside in what is forecasted to be a beautiful morning.
Please feel free to reach to any of the Boosters Board if you have questions, and look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning at Memorial.
Due to school buildings being closed, the pitching clinic with Nate Roe is suspended. We are evaluating if there are viable options for moving forward in another way.
The team has been educated on the benefits of the Perk fundraiser card and has been instructed to pre-sell the card to family/friends/neighbors. The cards were not distributed and it was explicitly stated that there is to no cold soliciting until it is safe and prudent to do so. At that time there will be another team meeting with go-forward plans reviewed and cards distributed. That timing has yet to be determined.
Our 2020 team store is open now through midnight on March 22. Items will be delivered by April 13th 2020. Visit and order today!

Congratulations to your sons for making this year’s team and to our incoming Freshman families a warm welcome!
In light of last night’s update email from the school district concerning the Coronavirus and after consulting with Coach Muirhead and Ken Mullen Interim Athletic Director, we have decided to postpone the two events scheduled for this week; this afternoon’s (Wed. March 11) mandatory parent/player/coaches meeting and tomorrow’s (Thurs. March 12) Spring Fundraiser and Silent Auction.
In the next day or two, in coordination with Coach Muirhead, we will share the information planned to be covered on the 11th in an email. In addition, we will be reaching out to all the freshman families individually to welcome them to the program.
While this was a very difficult decision, given the current situation we believe this is the right call. We look forward to meeting as a group in the near future and rescheduling the Fundraiser and Auction.
Stay tuned and Go Cougars!
